FA or SP. An introduction to topics in the history of women and to the use of gender as a category of historical analysis. This course examines experiences unique to women, as well as the social history of male-female interactions (in such institutions as the family, the church, and the political sphere) and the changing perceptions of masculinity and femininity in various historical contexts. This course serves as an elective in both History and Gender Studies.
