An introduction to classical Newtonian mechanics applied to linear and rotational motion, a study of energy and momentum and their associated conservation laws, introductions to oscillations and to gravitation. Attention is given throughout to the assumptions and methodologies of the physical sciences. Laboratory. Prerequisites: normally, concurrent registration in MATH 172.
