IDIS 192 - Across Cultures

SP. This course is made up of American and Canadian students who partner with an international student for cross-cultural engagement. Each week the partners meet to discuss topics such as their hometowns, families, eating habits, friendship patterns, dating and marriage customs, and barriers to crossing cultures- as well as doing an activity together. Students do a short reading, send in weekly journals, participate in a large group gathering and some campus events, but do not attend a regular class. The course lasts for ten weeks and satisfies the cross-cultural engagement core requirement. Students are placed in IDIS 192 by the instructor after the semester begins. This course satisfies cross-cultural engagement core.
