CHEM 303 - Fundamentals of Biochemistry

SP. A survey of biochemistry focusing on the structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. Fundamentals of metabolism and regulation will be presented in the context of exercise science-that is, how the body biochemically supports the energy demands of exercise. This course is not primarily intended for students who wish to major or minor in chemistry or biochemistry, but it may substitute for CHEM 323 in all programs. The lab component of this course is CHEM 383L. Prerequisite: CHEM 253 or CHEM 262. Corequisite: CHEM 303L.
