FA, SP. The course is a directed investigation of a topic that will vary depending on the interest and expertise of the instructor. Field and/or laboratory studies will emphasize reading and interpretation of scientific literature, study design, experimental conduct, data collection and analysis, as well as written, multimedia, and/or poster presentations. Two laboratory sessions per week. Prerequisite: BIOL 250 and permission of the instructor (obtain course application from the department website). Lab fee: $70.
