REL 311 - History and Archaeology of Ancient Israel

FA, Alternate years. A study of the history of ancient Israel from the patriarchs through Ezra in the context of recent research on this topic. This course will consider the sources for reconstructing the history of Israel, including the Old Testament, Ancient Near Eastern literary remains, and archaeological evidence, as well as appropriate methods for interpreting these sources. Prerequisite: REL 121 or an intermediate biblical studies course.
