Topics covered include the blending of peoples and cultures in the conquest era, the long-term influence of colonial institutions, the paradox of economic development and continued poverty, the Cold War struggle between Left and Right, and the growth of Protestantism in a traditional Catholic society. Not offered 2017-2018.
