EDUC 345 - Student Teaching Seminar: Contemporary Issues, Secondary, Middle Grades This course meets weekly during the semester of student-teaching. Discussion topics include classroom management, working with partners, prejudice & privilege, language & culture, resume writing, and interviewing. The unique attributes, assets, and challenges of a specific Chicago neighborhood are also investigated. Students will create an online student teaching portfolio and complete the edTPA. Students enrolled in the Chicago Semester program student teach in Chicago public school classrooms appropriate for their licensure requirements. During the student teaching internship, the intern gradually assumes the full responsibilities of the cooperating teacher/s. Student teaching requires fulltime commitment for the entire semester.
