BIOL 250 - Research Design and Methodology

SP. A combination of field, greenhouse and laboratory studies designed to familiarize students with research at both the cellular and ecological levels of organization. Emphasis will be on framing research questions, experimental design and data interpretation with reference to the published literature, and on the presentation and communication of scientific data. Under faculty direction student teams will develop their own research projects and present the results of their work in written and oral reports. Social, ethical and religious implications of the results of research will be explored. Two three-hour sessions per week. Prerequisites: BIOL 160 , BIOL 161 , and BIOL 230 , STAT 145 . Corequisite: concurrent enrollment in BIOL 295  is required.
