ASC 004 - Mathematics for the Liberal Arts Student (3) FA and SP, no credit. This course is taught with a particular emphasis on the development of mathematical thinking and problem solving skills. Topics include properties of real numbers, linear equations and inequalities, polynomials and exponents, and quadratic equations. The course is designed to reacquaint students with the algebra skills necessary for success in future CORE courses. Mandatory enrollment in this course is determined by the results of the Math Placement Test given by Student Academic Services. A final grade of C or higher is required for successful completion of the course.
