The course will focus on angiosperms and gymnosperms, seeking to inform students of basic plant morphology and anatomy (structure) that leads to understanding of growth requirements and physiological processes of plants (function). Understanding the processes by which plants grow and develop connects students to topics such as ecosystem function, physical transfer of solar to chemical energy, nutrition and human health.
