BIOL 200 - Research Design and Methodology

FA. A combination of field, greenhouse and laboratory studies designed to familiarize students with research at both the cellular and ecological levels of organization. Emphasis will be on framing research questions, experimental design and data interpretation with reference to published literature, and on the presentation and communication of scientific data. Under faculty direction student teams will develop their own research projects and present the results of their work in written and oral reports. Social, ethical, and theological implications of the results of research will be explored. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 160 BIOL 141  or BIOL 161 STAT 143  or STAT 145  (recommended). Corequisite(s): BIOL 295 . Lab fee.
