The symbols F (fall), I (interim), S (spring), and SU (summer) indicate when each course is offered. The credit (semester hours) for each course is indicated in parentheses after the course name. Interim course descriptions are made available during the fall semester and are published online.

Faculty members on leave of absence for the academic year are indicated by a (†), those on leave for the first semester by an asterisk (*), and those on leave the second semester by double asterisks (**).

These introductory courses satisfy the Physical World core requirement. Non-science majors are encouraged to enroll in CHEM 101  or CHEM 115 . Science majors must enroll in CHEM 103  and CHEM 104 , or CHEM 105 . Students having a strong chemistry background are encouraged to enroll in CHEM 105 .
